Abhinav Farmers Club is an award-winning group based in Mulshi Taluka, Pune, that focuses on integrated organic farming and direct marketing. Founded on August 15, 2004, by chief volunteer Mr. Dnyaneshwar Bodke, the club started with 11 farmers and has since grown to include over 156,000 members across multiple Indian states.
The club's farming practices are strictly organic, utilizing only traditional methods such as cow dung, cow urine, and Nimastra. To mitigate the risks of unpredictable weather, members also use greenhouses and polytunnels to ensure a consistent income.
A key innovation of the Abhinav Farmers Club is its direct marketing model, which bypasses middlemen. Using their mobile app, "ABHINAV CART," the club provides door-to-door home delivery of fresh organic produce, including vegetables, fruits, grains, pulses, and A2 milk, to over 300,000 households in Maharashtra. This system, combined with proper training in farming and packaging, has significantly improved the financial and health outcomes for its farmers. The success of this model has led to its expansion to other parts of India, aiming to elevate the lives of more farming communities.
