Dr. Biswabasu Das (Dr. BB Das)

Dr. Biswabasu Das (Dr. BB Das) is a senior Surgical Gastroenterologist and Robotic Surgeon with over 30 years of clinical and surgical experience. He serves as the Clinical Director and Head of Surgical Gastroenterology and Robotic Surgery at CARE Hospitals, Visakhapatnam. He completed his MBBS from SCB Medical College, followed by MS and MCh from AIIMS, New Delhi. He also underwent fellowship training in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) Surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC), New York.

He specialises in advanced laparoscopic, minimally invasive, and robotic gastrointestinal surgeries using the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System. His areas of expertise include gallbladder removal, complex hernia repairs, bariatric surgery, sleeve gastrectomy, colorectal resections, and the surgical management of gastrointestinal cancers. He also has expertise in complex liver, pancreatic, and biliary surgeries, including robotic Whipple procedures, and the treatment of cancers affecting the pancreas, liver, bile duct, stomach, oesophagus, and colon.
