Maharashtra Forest Department is in charge of managing its forests and wildlife. The Maharashtra Forest Department's headquarters is in Nagpur. Some of the eleven territorial forest circles include Amravati, Aurangabad, Chandrapur, Dhule, Gadchiroli, Kolhapur, Nagpur, Nashik, Pune, Thane, and Yavatmal. The three rings of wildlife are Wildlife Borivali, Wildlife Nagpur, and Wildlife Nashik.In Maharashtra, the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Head of Forest Force (HoFF), is in charge of the forest division. Under the Forest Rights Act, the Forest Department is also responsible for protecting the rights of Tribal people in forest areas.
