The Pune Nagar Vachan Mandir is a historic public library in Pune, India, founded in 1848 as the Poona Native General Library and is known as Pune's oldest library. Located in Budhwar Peth, the library features a collection of over 75,000 books, including a vast number of Marathi titles, housed in a notable white building with European-style arched windows. The library's legacy includes a destructive fire in 1879 which destroyed the original Budhwar Wada mansion where it was housed, but the library eventually rebuilt and continues to serve the community as a recognized heritage site.
