e-Aadhaar authentication made mandatory for Tatkal ticket bookings to prevent malpractices

The Ministry of Railways intends to implement significant improvements to the Tatkal ticketing procedure in order to strengthen it and stop fraud by requiring e-Aadhaar verification for Tatkal reservations.

On Wednesday, Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that e-Aadhaar authentication will soon be available for Tatkal ticket booking. In times of need, this will assist legitimate users in obtaining confirmed tickets.
