JioPC will allow users to convert their tv screens into cloud-powered personal computers

Jio Platforms, Reliance Industries' digital division, has introduced JioPC, a new virtual desktop service that lets users turn their TV screens into cloud-based PCs. The service is being made available to a restricted group of clients through a waitlist and is now under a limited-time free trial.

Using Jio's set-top box, the AI-enabled product may be purchased individually for Rs 5,499 (about $64) or included in the company's internet package. By connecting a keyboard and mouse, users can access a cloud-based PC interface; however, the device does not currently support peripherals like webcams or printers.

LibreOffice and other open-source applications are part of the cloud system for productivity activities, according to the company's website. Although they are not pre-installed, Microsoft Office applications can be accessed via a web browser.
